The Standard covers materials, methods of in· spection,
dimensions, testing and identification of porcelain enameled formed
steel plumbing fixtures such as bathtubs, sinks and lavatories
which are in general use and demand. Defmitions are given for
certain trade terms.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this American National Stand· ard is to provide a nationally recognized standard for the guidance of manufacturers, distributors and users of porcelain enameled formed steel plumbing ftx· tures. The Standard is intended to promote better understanding between suppliers and purchasers re· garding significant features of the fixtures, to provide a basis for fair competition in furnishing ftxtures that meet the principal demands of the trade, and yet in no way restrict development and design innovations and improvement of durability of the ftxtures.
